JULY 16TH TRAINING HAS CHANGED!
Exciting News!!
The originally planned event on July 16th, that was focusing on the Cape Cod Emergency Traffic Plan, and SMART's role in setting up a shelter at the Mass Military Reservation, has been expanded to be more comprehensive for all SMART volunteers.
Using lessons learned from our deployment to Monson, we will all review shelter setup, use of forms, intake procedure (including the computerized system), and then actually set up a small shelter. The morning will finish with a hotwash of the exercise.
SMART's Team Leaders feel that this change in the program will make the exercise more applicable to any deployment.
We encourage all of you to attend.

Registration starts at 8:30am
Exercise will begin promptly at 9am and will end no later than 1pm
PLEASE NOTE: If you have already registered for this event then you do not

Registration is required for all participants, deadline for registration is July 12th.
How should you prepare for this training?
Volunteers should treat this as if they are deploying for 2-3 days and bring appropriate supplies in their Go-Bags. Be sure to have made personal plans for your own families and pets!! There will be no snacks supplied but feel free to bring your own. Plan your clothing and footwear for a disaster scenario outdoors.
Altho' this is primarily a Sheltering exercise, we invite all teams to participate. This will be an excellent learning experience for all of us.
